What We Believe

As followers of Jesus Christ, we believe that every person is called to a spiritual journey that helps one to grow in hope, faith, and love.  Jesus gave us two great commandments, to love God and to love our neighbor.  We want to live out those commandments by actively serving God and our community, by worshiping together as a faith family, and by growing in our spiritual journey.

Methodists share a common heritage with other Christians:

  • Conviction that God has mercy and love for all people

  • Belief in a Triune God–Father, Son and Holy Spirit

  • Faith in the mystery of salvation through Jesus Christ

  • Celebration of the sacraments

For more information about what we believe as the Global Methodist Church read our statement of beliefs here.

Communion and Baptism

Holy Communion is the highest sacrament of the Global Methodist Church.  This sacrament is also known as The Lord’s Supper, The Last Supper, and Eucharist.  In communion, we remember God’s saving work through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We celebrate Communion in worship on the first Sunday of each month.

Baptism is the sacrament of initiation that joins us with the church and Christians everywhere.  It is a symbol of our new life in Christ Jesus and God’s forgiveness of our sins.  Infants, children, and adults may be baptized in the Global Methodist Church.  To arrange for baptism at one of our worship services, please contact the church office at 903-894-6762.
